Paul has a genuine concern for the future of wilderness and fears its loss due to human development and unhindered inappropriate misuse. Over the years, the painting of unique and evocative nature landscapes has dominated the topic matter of his paintings and drawings. 

Paul tries to allow his landscapes to express themselves with their unique design, line quality, colours, light and form. Movement and light changes in nature are constant and give any artist opportunities to address. It's these actions that helps define the place and time and the distinctiveness of the scene that he strives to capture.
